Biography

Robert Sterling found incredible success as an accomplished actor, appearing in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Sterling landed roles in various films, including "Ringside Maisie" (1941), the comedic adaptation "Two-Faced Woman" (1941) with Greta Garbo and "Johnny Eager" (1941). He also appeared in "I'll Wait For You" (1941), "This Time For Keeps" (1942) and "Somewhere I'll Find You" (1942). His film career continued throughout the forties and the fifties in productions like "Roughshod" (1949), "The Sundowners" (1950) and "Bunco Squad" (1950). He also appeared in the Kathryn Grayson adaptation "Show Boat" (1951). In the latter part of his career, he continued to act in "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" (1961), the Bob Hope comedy "A Global Affair" (1964) and the horror film "The Signal" (2008) with AJ Bowen. Sterling was most recently credited in "Clash of the Commercials: USA vs. The World" (CBS, 2010-11). Sterling was married to Ann Sothern and had four children. Sterling passed away in May 2006 at the age of 89.
